Lazy Dog Restaurant’s New Fall Items

Earlier this summer, I visited Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar for the first time with some friends to try their summer brunch menu which you can read here. With their changing seasonal menus, I thought I’d come back to see what’s new for their fall menu.

Lazy Dog Restaurant is a Cali-based company that made its to Dallas last year. They are slated to open a Plano location this month and one in Euless in the new year. It has a lodge inspired decor, it’s pet friendly and the Addison location huge!

So for an overdue girl’s brunch date, I invite 2 of my friends to join me. We started off with some very brunchy drinks and ordered a mix of items off the brunch and lunch menu.

From the brunch menu, we ordered the bananas foster french toast and the breakfast pizza. I’m not a huge sweets person, but I liked it. It wasn’t drenched or soggy. Had a great crunch to it and wasn’t over the top sweet. It has walnuts, caramelized bananas and a scoop of whip on top.

I immediately fell in love with the Sunny Side Up breakfast pizza. It’s a white pizza with breakfast fixings such as spinach, sundried tomatoes, bacon and cheese plus 3 sunny side up eggs. I loved everything about this pizza. So savory and good. Plus, it’s a pizza!

From the lunch menu, we sampled a few customer favorites: the turkey meatballs and pot roast. lazydogrestaurantdallas4 lazydogrestaurantdallas6

We were pleased to learn that Lazy Dog is a scratch kitchen and almost everything is made in-house, including most of the sauces. The tender pot roast sat on a bed of mashed potatoes and veggies. The sauce was great too. Nice hearty and comforting meal. The turkey meatballs were yummy too. I loved the pine nuts mixed in the turkey meatballs. Added a nice crunchy texture.

By the time we got to dessert, we were ready to burst. But found some room for a few last delicious bites. We tried the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake and the Simm’s Family Smore’s.

The pumpkin cheesecake was great, but the s’mores is definitely a winner. The s’mores special is made of rich chocolate fudge, peanut butter and a warm brownie. On top is a giant, house-made roasted marshmallow and crushed peanuts. SO GOOD.

BBQ Smoked Chicken Crisp

Definitely an indulgent destination. I think it’s great for really large parties, and it’s pet friendly too if you want to sit out on the patio. The pricing is reasonable, portions are good, and can’t beat the variety.

What would you try from Lazy Dog Restaurant? Drop me a comment and tell me which of these items looks to good to pass up.
