FITWeek is part of an annual event that brings the fitness community together to support local and global education. You are invited to join this empowering experience May 1-6th as 6 studios across Dallas unite through fitness to make an impact. By participating in an official FITWeek class, you will be contributing to improving childhood literacy both locally and globally. Proceeds from each class benefit our 2017 education nonprofits – Reading Partners North Texas and She’s the First. Refine and Define is a full body kettlebell workout lasting 45 minutes. There will be a combination of lifts to strategically hit each muscle group.

This high-intensity interval training workout sculpts your body and burns calories like nothing you’ve experienced before. Your trainer will lead you through explosive boxing rounds where you’ll deliver jab, cross, hook and uppercut combinations, working your entire body on our 100-pound heavy bags.

ONE – ALL LEVELS

Designed by celebrity trainer Sebastien Lagree, each session burns 500-800 calories and constantly pushes you to your limits.

In addition, each exercise targets your slow twitch muscle fibers which are scientifically proven to burn the most fat. The entire workout is spring based so springs keep constant tension on slow twitch muscle fibers which boost metabolism for hours after the workout making it one of the most intense yet low impact workouts out there.

Poolside Yoga

City Surf at Nike Dallas

This month Nike Dallas is featuring City Surf. Classes are at 9:30am on Saturdays in the courtyard through the month of May. Register at nike.com/dallas. Registration launches at 2pm on Sunday.

Pilates Week

Date: Mon-Sat., May 1st-6th | Time: Varies | Location: Ron Kirk Bridge (May 6th 6-8pm) | Cost: FREE. Register here for May 6th (Pilates Day).

Since Pilates Day is typically an event that studios promote individually, Pilates Live Founder Alexia P. Hammonds came up with the idea to create a week of Pilates awareness where a Facebook live class will be held at 5 local studios each day of that week.

And on Saturday, May 6th (Pilates Day), join Alexia Hammonds of Pilates Live, and one of Vogue’s Top 55 Fitness Trainers Colleen Glenn Wilson, as they host a special community Pilates Mat Session on the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge! Only 100 spots are available for this special Pilates Week finale celebration benefiting the Pilates Youth Organization.

Shack Track and Field

Shatterproof Challenge Rappel Dallas

Shatterproof, a national non-profit dedicated to reducing the devastation that addiction to prescription drugs, illicit drugs, and alcohol causes to families, will host a public rappel — 10 or 50 stories high.

CityLine Strong Free Yoga in the Plaza

Diane Barriere will be teaching this special FREE outdoor morning class hosted by Reef Point Yoga from 9-10am. These classes are going on thru the end of May, but Diane will only be teaching this one. Please bring a mat. Suitable for all levels.

Acro Yoga at The Grove

Join Dallas Fitness Ambassadors and Harwood District for a beginner’s acro yoga class at The Grove. Class will be led by An Truong (@an_solo_) and Paige Martindell. Open to all levels and partner not required. Please bring your mat, sunscreen and water.
