Virtual Sweat Date: Acro yoga, Visit Dallas, and break ups

Are the months flying by or what? I cannot believe it’s already May. On my Virtual Sweat Date this month, I’m sharing a few personal things that are going on in my life and some exciting announcements!

If we were on a Virtual Sweat Date, I’d tell you…

I’m obsessed with acro yoga. I only got a taste of it and I cannot wait to take more classes. It looks like such an intimidating practice. Yoga is already intimidating for most people and add in the whole lifting of bodies to that?! I can see why so many people see it as an unattainable practice. Let me tell you, it’s the most magical feeling. My good friend An, who I’ve known foreverrrr, gave me a private lesson for this photoshoot.

I’m by no means a consistent yogi, but I was able to get in all the poses. It just requires a bit of trust, faith, and the willingness to fly. I had so much fun. The adrenaline rush is unreal. You can join us on our next event on May 14th at The Grove in Harwood. Tickets are $15 and that includes the class, a drink, tacos, and swag from Outdoor Voices and Zenful Water. Check it out here.

How pumped I am to be working with Visit Dallas. It’s Dallas’ tourism hub and I’ll be working with them over the next few months to help locals rediscover this city and fall in love with it all over again. It’ll be a fun and challenging project and I’ll put out a series of blogs related to food, fitness, and lifestyle. I’m talking about all kinds of fun date ideas on my next one. Stay tuned!

I’m so excited for all the travel I have coming up this year. That includes heading to New York in a few days as an official Michelob Ultra Ambassador. I’m meeting the other hand-picked ambassadors at a kick-off party. I feel incredibly honored because I’m a small fry in terms of numbers/followers compared to a lot of the ambassadors they’ve chosen. Goes to show that numbers don’t always matter and it’s about content, quality of work, and how well you fit with the brand. Michelob is about finding balance and wants to be the go-to beverage if you’re looking for a beer, say…. after a workout? How perfect for me right?

I just got out of a 5 year relationship and it’s been one hell of ride. Despite the awfulness that comes with any break up, I believe everything happens for a reason. I’m grateful for the incredible group of friends I have and all the amazing opportunities that present itself to me every day. I’ve surprised myself with my resilience and my strength. But I never pegged myself for one of those mopey, single people anyway. My life is still full of so much love and there’s plenty to be grateful for.

I’m headed to Blogfest in July! It’s a really fun blogger conference for fitness bloggers and professionals. This year’s setting is in Las Vegas so I already know there will be some shenanigans. Can’t wait to get there with 5 of my Dallas Fitness Ambassador babes. Last year, we had such a blast and learned so much. This was definitely the turning point in our friendships for a lot of us. Plus, a girl’s trip is much needed at this point.

I just shared my May fitness events round up and it also includes an acro yoga event if these photos are giving you all the FOMO. It’s the perfect event for couples, friends, and single people. Guys…. seriously. Sign up. Thank me later. Also, my friend An is a bad ass and teaches at the Yoga Movement. Catch his class at The Yoga Movement on May 5th, May 26th, June 16th, and June 23rd.

I’d also tell you how obsessed I am with this Outdoor Voices outfit. The plum is one of my favorite colors! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this catch up post. Until next time!
