Virtual Sweat Date: Visiting OKC, Michelob ULTRA event, and more

How is it already June?!!? This year is truly flying by and we’re already halfway through the year. Well, as promised, here’s the next installment of my Virtual Sweat Date. It’s been a month and if you missed the last one, you can read it here. Let’s catch up!

If we were on a sweat date, I’d tell you…

I shared my first blog post in partnership with Visit Dallas earlier this month. I talk about 8 active date ideas you can do in Dallas while also highlighting DFW Surf’s stand up paddle boarding. As much as I love food, I love it when the dates get creative and fun and being active speaks to my soul! It’s no mystery that I absolutely love this city and I learn something new about it every day. I’ve got more great content I can’t wait to share more in the coming months.

How excited I am to head to Norman and Oklahoma City this week on a girls blogger trip. I’m working with Visit Norman and Visit Oklahoma. I always chuckle when I tell people I’m headed to Oklahoma. We really have no idea what’s up there right? I originally thought it was just tumbleweeds and casinos, but I’m so wrong! This will be my second time in OKC and judging by my itinerary… it’s going to be epic. Make sure to follow along or keep a look out for my travel recap!

I recently learned that I am much stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. When I would hit the gym, I would baby my knees or my shoulder and not go for the heavier weights. Well I’m proud to say I’ve worked my way up to doing 165lb deadlifts, 155lb squats, and 90lb chest press and I know I can do more! It’s such an empowering feeling and to see my progress continue to grow from a strength perspective! This is your friendly reminder to challenge yourself!

I’d tell you I’m hosting an event with Michelob on July 13th! Through Dallas Fitness Ambassadors, I usually host a silent disco workout event. This time, it’s going to be the biggest event it has ever been with Michelob Ultra on board. You guys… you are NOT going to want to miss this event. Tickets include the class, all the goodies from the past events (braid bar, samples, food, goodies), but this time… it also includes a branded Michelob Ultra mat and water bottle PLUS all the post-workout light beer to quench your thirst. More details coming soon!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I quit my corporate gig to pursue blogging and my business Dallas Fitness Ambassadors full time. I’ve always had it stuck in my head that most start ups fail within the first year, hell even first 5 years so I don’t take it for granted. I feel blessed every day I get to roll out of bed and do this.
