Virtual Sweat Date: Silent Disco Yoga, More Travel with Michelob, and Trap Karaoke

It’s been a minute since we’ve caught up over a virtual sweat date. August is finally here and I still can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by. I’ve literally been all over the place. This summer has been one to remember!

All about the silent disco yoga event I hosted with Michelob ULTRA and West Village. This was the largest event I’ve ever hosted with over 200 yogis coming to sweat and party with me. Everyone slipped on these noise-cancelling headphones and took an amazing and creative yoga class lead my by friend MJ. His playlist was SICK. This year as a Michelob ULTRA ambassador has been unbelievable and I wanted to take a moment to gush about the event. I’m already working on the next event with them. In the meantime, there could be an ambassador event in your city and you enter their sweepstakes to attend for free! Check it out here. I’ll be in Huntington Beach and Miami soon!

I just came back from Blogfest and Idea World in Las Vegas. This is my second year at this conference and it was a great trip. It’s a fitness blogger conference that hosts sessions for bloggers like myself. My favorite part was the expo where fitness brands from all over the U.S. set up shop. I got facetime with brands I’ve worked with, new brands I hope to work with, and made new friends. Of course, it’s Vegas so I definitely made time to pool and party.

I’m traveling a TON over the next 2 months. Just came back from Blogfest in Vegas and Stillwater, OK for Football 101 with OSU. It’s an all-women’s one day football camp. SO EXCITED. If you know me, I love playing flag football and can’t wait to bust out the cleats. Follow that up with a trip to Huntington Beach with Michelob ULTRA for the Surf Open and then a weekend in Austin for a bachelorette. I end my summer with a weekend in Miami with Michelob ULTRA and then a week long trip to Chicago and Denver in September. Recommendations for any of these cities are welcome!

I’ve been in a bit of a writing and creative funk. Summer has been extremely busy with events and other projects, but it’s also been taxing personally and mentally. My writing has taken a bit of back seat and I feel really guilty for not being on my A game. That’s the annoying overachiever in me. So bear with me as I reset, work on creating better content, and put my creative hat back on. I’m hoping my travels will give me a chance to reset and draw new inspiration for the blog. If you have some things you’d love to see, drop me a comment and let me know! I’d love your suggestions.

I’ve recently become obsessed with strength training. Super proud of my recent records. I was able to achieve my max of 210lb in deadlifts, 165 in squats, and 100 for benchpress. My fitness journey has been all over the place. As much as I love trying out different group fitness classes, I realized I wasn’t getting a consistent working and seeing consistent progress or changes in my body. I essentially had way too many options to choose from (yoga, spin, hit, pilates, barre, etc) and some days it can get overwhelming. In an effort to simplify my life, I decided to go back to basics and work out in my gym. It’s been fantastic and I’m loving the results I’m seeing.

I went to an event called Trap Karaoke and it was AMAZING. Has anyone ever been? I hear it’s been super trendy across the nation and saw snaps of it on a friends Insta story. This year it was at the House of Blues and it was truly the house party I never had. Really great throw back hype songs from 2007-2011 y’all. In addition to a killer DJ and Emcees, people were able to sign up and get on stage and rap their favorite songs. My friend Ginger and I had a freaking blast!!

I’m currently reading a book called The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. As hokey as the title sounds, I was able to glean some really great nuggets that helped put my stress and anxiety into perspective. It talks about how pain/anxiety/stress is mostly self-created. Without sounding cliche, I’m working on not worrying about the future and about things that haven’t happened. All these “what if’s” are driving me nuts and I don’t have time for doubt in my life. Instead, just focusing on the now, the present. This was just 30 pages in and I feel a world of difference. Highly recommended.

Finally, if we were on a virtual sweat date, I’d ask YOU…

What books are you reading? Do you have any fun travel plans this summer or fall? Is there anything I can do to help you in any way? Just ask! Drop me comment below. I’d love to hear from you.
