In one of my earlier articles, I talked about a dinner club I had at Sfuzzi’s. Round two commences at Villa-O on Travis St., off Knox and 75.
I’d have to say I wasn’t very impressed with the food. Unfortunately the menu changed again and was so similar to what I had at Sfuzzi’s I wasn’t as excited. The service wasn’t as friendly either, but I think it’s just the restaurant in general. Never been a fan of this place, so I guess I shouldn’t have expected much. It did end up being a nice girls night out though.
For the first course, you could choose between the broccoli soup or a salad. The soup was by far my favorite part of the course. There’s always something very homey about good soups.
For the main course, I chose the fettuccine this time instead of the salmon. The pasta was actually really lacking in flavor and pretty disappointing whereas the salmon was overcooked.
For dessert, the Italian lemon cake didn’t really have that lemon-y zest you’d expect.
The whole entire experience really came out wanting. I think I’ll stick to either Sfuzzi’s or The Standard Pour for future Dame’s Dinner Clubs. I’d rather take my friends and the generous tips we all leave elsewhere.
