Got to try the very popular Whiskey Cake in Plano this past weekend for a birthday party. I’ve heard people rave about the awesomeness that is brunch, dinner, and of course their signature Whiskey Cake. There were some stand outs and some disappointments. Be warned! The waits are ridiculous and the place does not take reservations. Granted it was a Saturday night, but the wait was 2 hours for a table. Brunch waits are almost as bad. Humph.
Enjoy the food porn!
These fried green tomatoes were really delicious. I really liked the remoulade sauce that came with it.
The deviled eggs weren’t really impressive. The yolk was overcooked and bland. While the macaroni added an interesting texture, I felt like putting macaroni on anything with the cheese is punishable by death! Just kidding… but still. Meh.
The goat cheese fondue wasn’t what I thought it would be. I was hoping for a creamy cheese soupy dish to dip bread, but it was drowning in too olive oil. Not enough bread with the fondue. Skip this.
The pork sliders were so cute and came on a brick. This could very well be a meal since the portion sizes were so big!
The basic burger! I didn’t get to try this personally, but it looked delicious. Loved the chips though.
The Basic Burger
The grilled pork brisket steak was kinda puny. Decent flavor. Good cheddar grits.
You can’t go to Whiskey Cake without trying their signature Whiskey cake dessert. Everyone had heard so much about it’s deliciousness, we all order one to eat and one to go.
So we got a whole cake! Happy birthday to ME…. I mean …ehem…my friends! 🙂
