Outdoor fun at The Grove at Harwood

I have to tell you about the little slice of beachy paradise that my friend Amanda of Glitter and Spice visited in our urban jungle also known as Uptown. The Grove at Harwood off McKinnon Ave is such an adorable spot for drinks and outside fun that I had to share it.

The Grove at Harwood has an outdoor wooden shack/bar that serves up cold drinks and simple bites. I wouldn’t consider this a foodie spot, but definitely a great place to grab a drink with some friends and enjoy some sun. It’s definitely casual trendy.

After grabbing a few refreshing drinks and gabbing away about your typical blogger stuff and life in general, we ordered some bites from their menu. It’s mostly paninis, snacks, and finger foods.

I love the outdoor patio area. It’s complete with giant Jenga, hammocks, bocce ball and other fun games to pass the time. As expected of an outdoor hot spot, it’s also dog friendly!

What I loved most were the two sand volleyball courts! It’s one of my favorite sports to play and it was really awesome being able to watch a game or two. Looking forward to coming back for a game!

If you’re looking for a new spot to check out, definitely make your way here on a cooler day. As relentless as a Dallas summer can be, this would be a great place for a late evening hang out. There are mists machines, but it’s only so effective. This is completely outdoors and there’s no indoor seating. As far as I could tell, parking is valet only although there may be some street parking.
