This past weekend, I hosted a really fun fitness event in partnership with SIX:02. It’s one of my favorite brands and I love working with the team. In an effort to promote the It’s Your Time SIX:02 6K taking place in November, I’ve teamed up with SIX:02 to offer monthly events that’ll help fitness enthusiasts prepare for the race in a fun and educational way. We are four months out from the race and I thought we’d start with the basics: a deep stretch yoga class. As an athlete, I can’t stress enough how important stretching is to stay healthy. Whether you’ve been running forever or this is your first race, learning a few basic stretches goes a long way.
We had the pleasure of having Sunnye Goldston from Exhale Spa lead the class. I was giddy when more than 20 women walked through the doors on a Saturday at 830 in the morning. Not to mention it was National Tequila Day the day before. ehehe…
Sunnye is amazing and lead a very cool class. The feedback was great and just what the doctor ordered for some who came.
So if you aren’t familiar with the concept of the 6K, it’s a race hosted in Uptown and Klyde Warren Park. It’s a female-centric race that promotes empowerment and taking time for yourself. At the end of the race, SIX:02 offers what they call the sweaty-to-ready salon. Think make up treatments, hair treatments, express manis, massages. You’re already feeling great after a good run and now you can get pampered and look great too. To stick with this theme sweaty-to-ready theme, Simply Fit Meals and Pouf Blowout Beauty Bar came out to offer our ladies refreshments after their class and a beauty braid bar.
Simply Fit Meals brought out some of their popular juices and everyone had an opportunity to sample them as a mid-morning pick me up. Super delicious. I particularly loved the Sweet Tart.
The beauty braid bar was definitely a huge hit. It was an early Saturday morning and who doesn’t want to leave looking super cute after a class, amiright? The Pouf team did an amazing job. I was so in love with my french braid mohawk. I can’t braid to save my life so I wore it all day long. It was so fun.
Another highlight was seeing everyone leave with some of SIX:02’s awesome swag to remember the event by. We had quite a few prizes to raffle including four Simply Fit Meals shirts, a 10 class pack from Exhale Spa, and a pair of complimentary race registrations for the 6K. We also offered an in-store discount off total purchases and a discount for the race if anyone signed up that day. Talk about pulling out all the stops. I’m a huge fan of elevating the experience and making it a memorable event. Definitely nailed it.
The beauty about this series is that there will be another one! If you missed out or got a case of FOMO, the next one will be held on Saturday morning, August 22. This will be a cardio-based workout with lots of cool treats. Mark your calendars and make sure to follow me on Instagram at @deepfriedfit. That’s where I’ll be announcing all the details for that event. Comment below with what you’d love to see at the next event. Ideas are welcome! See you there!
