8 favorite Dallas workouts of 2015

Today I’m sharing my 8 favorite Dallas workouts this year. It’s amazing we’re in December already and 2016 is just around the corner. 2015 totally flew by! Toward the end of the year, I like to look back to see how much has changed, how much I’ve grown along the way, and ponder about the future ahead.

2015 was a really fun year for me. I had the opportunity to workout at so many great studios and gyms, make new friends that helped me continue on my fitness journey and expand my horizons in this wonderful fitness world.

As your figuring out what you want your goals to be for 2016, I’ve put together a short list of some of my favorite workouts. I’m a fan of variety and efficiency. I’m a high-intensity kind of girl and I like to burn as many calories as possible and fast! Here are some of my favorite workouts of the year:

Fit180 is a private personal training gym with a boutique studio feel. I asked for efficient, creative and challenging workouts and they definitely delivered. You have the opportunity to work at any of their three locations with a variety of different trainers and styles for each of your one-on-one sessions.

PerformanceGX offers what I think is one of the hardest HIIT workouts I took this year. Their 30 minute primal classes are fun, challenging, and a total calorie blaster. With a focus on strength or speed and agility and the option to stack the classes back to back, you’ll have worked your butt off. For newbies, take advantage of 4 day passes to get a taste of what PGX offers.

Burn Cardio Studio has a killer Booty Building, Arms and Abs and MetCon class that I love taking when I’m short on time and need the burn. The 30 minutes classes are small and allow for more one-on-one attention. It may be a women’s fitness studio, but the workouts are not for sissies. Try it out by redeeming the free 2 day pass if you’re a new client.

Orangetheory Fitness promises an intense 60 minute heart rate based interval training class using treadmills, row machines, TRX and weights. If you’re a numbers driven fitness fanatic, you’ll love the data and the extra push you get from using the heart rate monitors in this workout. Your first class is free for newbies.

dallasblogger-fitness-orangetheory-prestonhollow13Beyond500 features Pilates-inspired interval training using kettle bells, Pilates chairs, and their unique self-propelled curved treadmills. Get two classes for $25 when you redeem the intro special.

The Ride House is a gorgeous indoor cycling studio that delivers an intense workout while jamming to bumpin playlists. It’s a party on a bike. The classes are held in a dark room with a fun light show. Your first two classes are free. Make sure to keep an eye out for their theme rides. It’s always a blast.

The All Out Trinity’s Yoga on the Bridge is one of my favorite Dallas events. This all-day fitness festival includes runs, bike rides, dog walks and more. My favorite is Yoga on the Bridge that takes place on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. the view is breath taking and a must! This annual event takes place in March.

SIX02 It’s Your Time 6K is an annual race held in Klyde Warren Park. This female-centric race is one of the most well done races I’ve participated in and I love the post-race party. The Sweaty to Ready salon pampers racers with express manis, make up and hair touch ups, should massages, and treats. It’s always a blast so keep a lookout for it next November.

  4. My absolute favorite workout is the Barre method. I have lower disc and hip alignment issues and this workout did not cause my body any pain, yet still gives me an intense workout. I attend DREAM Barre and Fitness located in Mansfield. Very knowledgeable instructors. Convenient location off S Cooper near 287. http://familydreamcenter.com/
